The Brookville Area Kiwanis Club was chartered on June 4, 2003. The new club was sponsored by the AC Valley and Clarion Kiwanis Club. Kiwanis was reintroduced to the Brookville Area after a hiatus of five years when members were no longer able to sustain the club. Charter members were recruited through the hard work and dedication of Club Builder, Hal Moore from the Grove City Kiwanis Club. The club's first President was Rev. Rohn Peterson who ably led us through our first year of operation.
Projects undertaken by the club have included, bicycle clean-up and give away, book collections for childhood literacy, reading to pre-school children, sponsored 4 high school students to attend a leadership training seminar, co-sponsored a reading program at the Rebecca M. Arthurs Memorial Library and visits to the local History Center.
The Club, initially meeting at the Brookville Day's Inn, currently meets at Gilbert's Restaurant, Allegheny Blvd. Brookville every Wednesday at 7:30 AM.
